Volunteer work Major Duties:

  • You will process all items returned from Intermediate Maintenance Activities.
  • You will provide technical advice and assistance to all station departments and fleet units on identification of all classes of materials handled.
  • You will verify quantities and identify material as agreeing with receiving documentation.
  • You will Input receipt information into an automated record system.
  • You will unpack boxes, crates, and cartons which may contain specialized equipment and examine items for condition (i.e., visible damage, missing components, improperly labeled packaging).
  • You will use hand trucks, carts and forklift with capacity up to 10,000 pounds to move, load, unload and stack various materials and supplies.
  • You will correspond verbally and in writing via various forms of communication regarding performance of duties.
  • You will utilize and apply intense practical knowledge and familiarity with characteristics, properties and use of equipment.
