This job involves handling materials in a naval supply center, including receiving shipments, storing items safely, loading and unloading vehicles, and using tools like forklifts to move equipment around.

You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Material Management Department Mid-Atlantic of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform the duties of a Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience working under normal supervision, receiving, issuing, and storing various types of materials, supplies, and equipment; reading shipping documents; certifying completeness and accuracy of deliveries; checking, counting, inspecting for damage, and identifying materials, verifying against documentation; loading/unloading vehicles; storing items in the correct location; reading and preparing material/inventory documents; using automated warehouse equipment; reading and understanding warehouse plans; operating materials handling equipment/forklift.
