This job involves handling materials in a government printing and publishing office, including receiving shipments, checking items for accuracy and condition, operating forklifts to move and stack loads, and keeping records of all activities.
It's a hands-on role focused on safe and efficient storage and distribution of printing supplies like paper stock.

This position is part of the To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Materials Handler.
These duties require skill in: 1) Receiving, shipping, checking, and recording all incoming/outgoing materials, 2)verifying quantities and condition of materials and/or equipment, 3) Completing and maintaining a log of incoming shipments, 4) Assuring fire, safety, and security regulations and practices are met, and 5) Maintaining bulk staging area for pallets and skids to include operating powered high lift fork to carry, lift, and stack loads of various materials.
Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, to be considered for this position.

The screen-out element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (PPW) without more than normal supervision.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
