Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0917000 and is part of the FL AASF 1, National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C.

709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.

First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized.

Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation.

Military Grades: Enlisted: E1 thru E7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to distinguish between closely related or similar items, ability to follow procedures, ability to sort materials by type, and skill in the use of hand tools.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-07 Must have at least 12 months Experience or training identifying and sorting a variety of complex materials and equipment.

Experience receiving materials and equipment, recording, and placing items in proper storage areas. Experience preparing all items for shipment using appropriate agency instructions.

Expert knowledge of specialized handling, storing, disposal, and safety procedures related to hazardous materials to ensure adherence to governing regulatory guidance, policies, and procedures.

Experience in mathematical equations. Experience interpreting and using Federal Supply Catalogs, military and manufacturing catalogs, and technical and agency manuals.

Experience using and operating forklifts and motor vehicles. Major Duties:

As a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (TITLE 32), WG-6912-7, you will identified and handle hazardous materials in storage areas.

Insures the safereceipt, storage and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances Such as ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or radioactive materials in accordance with facilityand regulatory requirements.

Determines storage requirements, arrangement ofmaterials, and space utilization.

Insures compliance with Federal, State, Department ofDefense (DoD), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and theEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules or regulations.
