Summary

Full Job Description

You will serve as a in the MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION.

Decipher and put to use technical specification, quality control and assurance procedures, test requirement, inspection and radiological priorities and policies.

Direct and oversee the planning, scheduling and execution of nuclear production work applicable to ship availability..

  • You will disassemble/repair/reassemble/adjust hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic control valves, and associated equipment concerning periscopes, radar and radio antenna masts, submarine snorkels etc.
  • You will perform all task for shafting, steam and open machinery systems.
  • You will perform all task related to torpedo tubes, torpedo ejection, vertical launch system, 3” launcher, weapons handling and stowage, towed arrays, optical and electrical alignment.
  • You will perform all task related to steering and diving (hydraulic, structural, mechanical and electrical control), ship service hydraulics and external hydraulics.
  • You will interpret and apply the requirements contained in technical work documents, technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints.
  • You will make the necessary templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repair or installation utilizing knowledge of materials and their versatility.
