Full Job Description

As a Manager for Internal Communications, you will plan, organize, implement, and direct activities associated with developing, coordinating, and implementing the internal communication programs; supervise the assigned staff; and direct the resources necessary to carry out these responsibilities.

This position is located in Washington, DC.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level.

Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Collaborating and partnering with internal or external stakeholders to understand key issues, identify engagement opportunities and ensure consistent and aligned messaging, AND Developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives and creating deliverables tailored to specific target audiences.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service.

One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

As a Manager for Internal Communications, you will: Provide internal communication counsel and advice to OCC staff. Serve as the agency expert on internal communication.

Develop, coordinate, and implement internal communication plans and programs at the OCC to increase awareness and understanding of agency goals, objectives, policies, and programs.

Plan, organize, implement, and direct activities associated with developing, coordinating, and implementing internal communication programs.

Coordinate with and provide guidance to other OCC divisions, management, contractors, designers, and printers in executing communication plans.

Plan and conduct appropriate training for OCC employees on how to prepare information for OCC's internal audiences.

Write, edit, and produce special projects using electronic and print media as required to execute communication plans successfully.

Perform supervisory work that includes responsibilities for planning and scheduling work; assigning work to employees; assuring that production, accuracy, quality, and service level requirements are met; preparing performance plans and evaluations; and approving leave and training; and effecting minor disciplinary measures, as necessary.
