This position is located in the National Zoological Conservation Biology Institution (NZCBI), National Zoological Park (NZP), Under Secretary for Research and Science, Smithsonian Institution (SI).
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience providing programmatic support, including procurement, financial reconciliations and oversight, logistics, property management, travel orders, record keeping, and other operational functions related to a unit and/or program Or Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B.

Major Duties:
The Management Support Specialist serves as the primary administrative point of contact and is responsible for handling a variety of office requests in support of center operations.
In this position, you will: Assist Senior Management Support Specialists in developing, analyzing, evaluating, and maintaining internal cuff record systems, file organization, and information and documentation systems.
Procure goods and services by preparing contracts, utilizing a purchase card, and/or creating purchase orders, then verifies that products or services are received, accounted for, and that the vendor is paid.
Manage multiple complex domestic and international travel orders simultaneously by preparing travel authorizations and vouchers in the Smithsonian's travel system.
Provide administrative support to center/program staff and senior management.
