Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves hands-on maintenance tasks like painting buildings and equipment, fixing plumbing issues, doing carpentry on furniture and structures, and installing household appliances at an Air Force base in Louisiana.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, La 71110. This is a flexible position. No benefits are offered at this time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Experience of maintenance functions (e.g., carpentry, installs/repairs all furniture, install of small household fixtures and major appliances).
Must be able to work in uncomfortable/awkward positions (e.g., climbing, bending and lifting) and in all weather conditions.
Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. May occasionally be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift more than 40 pounds. Must be able to communicate orally and in written format.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:
Regular & Recurring Duties and Responsibilities: Performs a variety of painting jobs on equipment and facilities in and outdoor using standard type tools such as brushes, rollers and sprayers.
Makes repairs to and cleans plumbing fixtures (e.g., disposal systems, leaky drains and faucets etc....). Performs carpentry work on buildings and furniture.
Replaces or repairs furniture and installs household type fixtures such as towel racks, mirrors, and curtain rods. Refinishes damaged or scarred areas on furniture.
Installs refrigerators, stoves and television sets.
