About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 45 FSS/FSCO at the Outdoor Recreation Programs.

This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week.

Must be able to life and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Jan 31, 2026, Feb 10, 2026, and closing on Feb 20, 2026. Announcement will close once position is filled.

Applies a basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, electricity, plumbing, and mechanical tasks in performing minor maintenance and self-help construction of assigned buildings and grounds belonging to Outdoor Recreation.

Plans and lays out work from drawings and oral or written instructions. Selects materials and tools to be used.

Measures and cuts materials to required length using hand or portable power tools of the carpentry trade.

Uses standard measuring instruments such as rulers, tape measures, carpenter's square, and levels. Installs fixtures such as towel racks, mirrors, curtain/drapery rods, and shower curtains.

Periodically inspects buildings, facilities, and grounds to determine the need fer repair work and reports findings to supervisor.

Brushes, rolls and sprays paint or related materials according to specific instructions to ensure that surfaces are fully roasted and free from drips and runs.

Ensures surfaces are prepared and ready to be painted or primed. Properly cleans, stores, and safeguards paints, stains, and related materials and equipment.

Performs minor electrical work such as replacing switches, outlets, fixtures, or bulbs.

Replaces worn faucets and fixtures, clears clogged drains, and performs other basic plumbing tasks as required or assigned.

Maintains, assembles, and makes minor repairs to furniture and assigned equipment including lawn mowers, hand tools, ice machine, and vacuum cleaners.

Operates a variety of assigned motor vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment.

Loads, unloads, and moves heavy or bulky items from trucks or other conveyances using forklift, hand truck or other means.

Performs minor vehicle operator maintenance and ensures that assigned vehicles are maintained in accordance with applicable instructions. Completes records and reports required during operator usage.

Refers complex repair or maintenance work to supervisor. Maintains assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans floors, walls, ceilings, and woodwork.

Vacuums carpets and cleans floors and furniture. Collects and empties waste baskets and garbage cans.

May perform outside landscaping tasks such as edging around curbs and sidewalks, trimming shrubs, and applying pesticides or weed control products. Fertilizes and waters lawns and shrubs.

Pressure washes concrete pavilion pads and driveways. Performs other related duties as assigned.
