Full Job Description

This position is located at Uchee Creek which is a part of Fort Benning Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.

Must be able to understand oral English and read and understand written instructions in English to assure safe and satisfactory performance (reading chemical labels, operating instructions, assignments, etc.).

Major Duties:

  • Works under general supervision and is provided work assignments, direction, policies, guidelines, quality of work expected, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Maintains park picnic and pavilion recreational areas. Performs grass-cutting requirements using riding lawn mowers/ garden tractors (from 18HP to 31HP), push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, blowers, weed eaters, pruners, etc.
  • Performs daily cleaning and policing of recreational facilities and areas within the park. Cleans public latrines, party pavilions, and other facilities. Replaces towels and tissue and empties trash containers.
  • Incumbent performs a variety of basic maintenance work in support of the park, recreational areas, and lake. Maintaining the grounds, facilities, structures, and equipment.
  • Provides assistance to patrons by answering questions about facilities, giving directional information, setting up camping/party/playground areas and equipment, explaining rules and regulations, etc.
