About the position: This position will be assigned to Eagle's Nest Lodging on Youngstown Air Reserve Base, Ohio.

The purpose of this position is to serve as a maintenance worker for the base Lodging facilities The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week.

This position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must be able to use variety of hand tools associated with carpentry, painting and plumbing. Knowledge of standards surface preparation and coating methods and techniques.

Able to carry out oral and written instructions. Must have experience in the minor repair of furniture, woodwork refinishing, electrical repair and plumbing.

Must have the ability to do more than one task at the time and uses judgement in sequencing tasks. Must be physically able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle up to one ton. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle up to one ton. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Inquiry (NACI). Major Duties:

Applicants will be reviewed and referred every two weeks until the close of this announcement.

Performs maintenance and minor repairs to interior and exterior structure and related fixtures and utilities of lodging.

Duty assignments require the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, painting and plumbing. These simple routine tasks are performed with little supervision.

The more complex jobs will be performed by local civil engineers. Repairs small holes in sheetrock walls to include patching, sanding and painting as required.

Repairs doors and doorways which may require changing locks, unjamming doors and sanding and painting as needed.

Selects and mixes coating materials according to specific directions or uses pre-mixed paint. Paints small areas as directed.

Insures that surface are fully coated, protected and free from drips and runs. Cleans stoppages in plumbing, replaces washers in faucets and replaces shower heads.

Performs minor repair and maintenance of furniture to include gluing and refinishing damaged areas.

Repairs drapery rods, venetian blinds, window cranks, and replaces interior trim, broken or worn tile.

Performs minor repairs to small appliances such as vacuum cleaners, floor cleaners and polishers, lamps and coffee pots or urns.

Installs shelving and towel racks or rods in bathroom, housekeeping storage and supply rooms and/or other designated areas. Polices outside areas of buildings, adjacent parking areas and roadways.

Rakes leaves, spreads mulch, pulls weeds, spreads chemicals on icy surfaces and shovels snow. Waters flowers and plants minor landscaping items, etc.

Washes window as needed, using step ladder or extension ladder. Performs other related duties as assigned.
