About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 96 FSS Logistics and Maintenance Office. Position is Regular Part-time (RPT) guaranteed 20 hours per week.

RPT employees receive benefits (Health/Life Insurance; 401K & AFNAF Retirement Plan; Annual/Sick Leave and Holidays).

Work requires moderately heavy physical effort, such as that involved in carrying trade tools and materials. Work is usually performed outdoors but occasionally indoors.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have general experience which provided a basic knowledge of and ability to perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor electrical duties.

Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.

Must be skilled in the use of common hand/power tools and equipment. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally heavier objects with assistance.

Major Duties:

Performs visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of, repair work associated with various trades, such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting and Electricity as related to facility maintenance.

Develops maintenance plan for FSS facilities to include: Replace parts such as washers, floats, handles, shower heads and toilet seats.

Make minor repairs to walls, doors, windows, floors and ceilings using acceptable trade practices.

Prepares surfaces by repairing holes, applying dry wall compound, sanding before application of paints, enamels, varnishes as undercoats and finish coats.

Repairs and/or replaces minor electrical problems such as damaged light switch and outlet covers. Removes and replaces damaged tile and carpet.

Makes minor repairs and adjustments to various furnishings for adults and children.

Operates and performs operator maintenance on NAF vehicles to include maintaining vehicle logs and ensuring proper repairs are completed in a timely manner. Performs other related duties as assigned.
