This job involves performing hands-on repairs and maintenance on buildings and grounds for Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation, including tasks like fixing plumbing, electrical systems, roofs, and painting to keep facilities safe and operational.
It's ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, solving everyday problems, and working in a team to support public infrastructure.
A good fit would be a reliable tradesperson with experience in building maintenance who values job stability and growth opportunities.

In this position, you will handle various maintenance tasks for the district office, which include electrical, plumbing, masonry, roofing, painting, and general repairs.
Your responsibilities will involve installing and maintaining plumbing fixtures, fixing leaks, clearing drains, replacing bulbs and switches, assisting with electrical circuits and lighting, and making adjustments to heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems.
Additionally, you will perform masonry and concrete work, such as building forms, mixing materials, laying blocks or bricks, and repairing plaster, along with roof repairs, installing flashing, and maintaining roof drains.
Beyond facility maintenance, you will also assist the Information Technology Coordinator by running cables, conduits, and wiring, as well as installing boxes for electrical, LAN, and telephone systems across the district.
You may help electricians with highway lighting repairs and emergency lighting checks, provide support to contractors working on specialized system repairs, and complete both interior and exterior painting as needed.
This role is essential in ensuring that district buildings and infrastructure are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
