Requirements

In this position, you will handle various maintenance tasks for the district office, which include electrical, plumbing, masonry, roofing, painting, and general repairs.

Your responsibilities will involve installing and maintaining plumbing fixtures, fixing leaks, clearing drains, replacing bulbs and switches, assisting with electrical circuits and lighting, and making adjustments to heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems.

Additionally, you will perform masonry and concrete work, such as building forms, mixing materials, laying blocks or bricks, and repairing plaster, along with roof repairs, installing flashing, and maintaining roof drains.

Beyond facility maintenance, you will also assist the Information Technology Coordinator by running cables, conduits, and wiring, as well as installing boxes for electrical, LAN, and telephone systems across the district.

You may help electricians with highway lighting repairs and emergency lighting checks, provide support to contractors working on specialized system repairs, and complete both interior and exterior painting as needed.

This role is essential in ensuring that district buildings and infrastructure are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.


Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
