Job Description

Summary

This job is for a licensed practical nurse working the night shift at a school for deaf and blind students in South Carolina, where you'll handle medication, treatments, first aid, and emergency care for residential students aged 5 to 20.

You'll also keep medical records and report to doctors and supervisors.

Key Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
  • Current South Carolina LPN license issued by the State Board of Nursing
  • At least three years of full-time nursing experience

  • Skills in tube feedings and medical assessments for students
  • Proficiency in maintaining and analyzing medical records
  • Effective communication, possibly including alternative modalities for deaf or blind students

Full Job Description


Administration of medication, provision of student treatments, first aid and emergency medical assistance, tube feedings, medical assessments and other related nursing needs of student.

Maintains adequate medical records by recording and reporting students’ signs, symptoms, reactions, and progress through analysis of records.

Reports pertinent information regarding students to the physician and Nurse Administrator/Manager II.


Requirements


Graduate from an accredited LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) program. Must have a current SC LPN License issued by the State Board of Nursing and three years of full-time experience. This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.

If selected for an interview you must provide verification of your highest level of education ( i.e., copy of BA Degree, high school diploma, college transcripts) and if applicable, licensure and/or certification ( i.e., copy of nursing licensure, teacher licensure, bus driving certification). This position serves our Residential students who come in on Sunday and depart on Friday.
