Responsibilities

As a Store Manager, you will:

  • Manage all aspects of the operations of a State Liquor Store.
  • Maintain a strong leadership presence in the store.
  • Supervise all store personnel.
  • Contribute to the department's service-focused mission by providing superior customer service.
  • Perform cash control duties.
  • Maintain inventory reports.
  • Prioritize, plan, and adjust schedules and maintain employee leave and payroll records.
  • Evaluate employee performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience managing a fast paced retail store.
  • Capable of bringing out the best in their employees.
  • Ability to ensure that customers receive exceptional service.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Successfully pass a background check.

DABS stores are closed on Sundays and all state and federal holidays.

Requirements

Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available.

Orders, receives, inspects, and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies.Conducts regular and/or spot check inventories of merchandise, supplies, or equipment.Sets up and closes cash registers and prepares deposits.Resolves potential confrontational issues appropriately when dealing with intoxicated individuals, shoplifters, etc.Verifies that cash intake matches sales and inventory activity.Receives and records cash payments; processes related paperwork.Displays new items and existing stock.Assists customers in finding products, making selections and purchasing items.Receives and fills liquor orders for licensees and customers as required.Gathers data, prepares reports or summarizes information.Ensures staff is trained to prohibit sales to minors.

Additional Information Physical Requirements.

  • Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
  • Extensive standing/walking (approx. 70%/30% of shift). Must lift, pull, push, and carry 50 lbs. frequently. Requires constant balancing, grasping, and finger dexterity.

    Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and seeing. Requires frequent talking, hearing, and hand/wrist/arm use. Tools: POS, box cutter, hand truck.

    Walk on either level or uneven surface frequently. Occasional climbing.
