Job Description

Summary

This lifeguard position involves watching over swimmers at a Marine Corps community pool in Albany, Georgia, enforcing safety rules, and responding quickly to any dangers to keep everyone safe.

Key Requirements

  • At least 15 years old
  • Six months of experience as a pool lifeguard (preferred)

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to enforce them
  • Ability to pass initial and recurrent physical ability tests
  • Capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 45 lbs independently (over 45 lbs with assistance)

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

What are we looking for? Must be at least 15 years old. Six months of experience as a pool lifeguard is preferred.

Possess current nationally recognized certifications: Lifeguard training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent, Standard First Aid or equivalent.

Ability to use and perform maintenance of pool equipment. Understanding of and the ability to enforce rigid safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers.

Ability to use equipment to take pool readings. Must be able to pass an initial and recurrent physical ability test. Major Duties:

What to Expect: Responsible of maintaining order at the swimming pool facility. Maintain continuous surveillance of patrons in swimming pools.

Ensure appropriate headcount of patrons involved in a swimming and/or watersport on an hourly basis.

Call out warnings or take appropriate action for patrons who may have ventured too far or are in imminent danger. Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents/injuries.

This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance is required, while performing normal duties in the area.

National and state background checks are required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
