Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a licensed psychologist at a youth forestry camp in Pennsylvania, where you'll assess and treat court-committed young people facing challenges like mental health issues, substance abuse, and trauma to help them succeed.

You'll conduct evaluations through interviews and observations, develop treatment plans, and lead team meetings to provide supportive care.

Key Requirements

  • Valid license to practice psychology issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology
  • Experience in clinical, vocational, rehabilitation, educational, and habilitation psychological services
  • Ability to evaluate youth through medical/social history reviews, interviews, behavior observation, and physical assessments
  • Knowledge of treatment modalities including substance abuse, mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and trauma-informed care
  • Skills in treatment planning, documentation, multidisciplinary team collaboration, and leading clinical meetings
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site at Youth Forestry Camp #3 in James Creek, Huntingdon County, with standard 8 AM to 4 PM hours Monday-Friday
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed, with no telework option

The Department of Human Services (DHS), Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS) is seeking a committed Licensed Psychologist to join the Youth Forestry Camp #3 team in Huntingdon County. Requirements

As a Licensed Psychologist, you will be responsible for independent and specialized work in clinical, vocational, rehabilitation, educational, and habilitation areas of the psychological services program for court committed, adjudicated delinquent youth.

You will evaluate the psychological strengths and weaknesses of individuals through various means, including reviewing medical and social case histories, personal interviews, and observation of their behavior and physical condition.

Treatment areas include modalities, theories, confidentiality regulations, multidisciplinary, treatment planning, documentation practices, performance-based treatment, aftercare planning, substance abuse, mental health treatment, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and trauma informed care.

Additionally, you will assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating best practice guidelines and minimum standards.

You will also lead youth treatment meetings and clinical staffing meetings with the identified multidisciplinary treatment team.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.
  • You must be willing to accept employment at Youth Forestry Camp #3 and commute to this location in James Creek, Huntingdon County.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Special Requirements:

  • This position is required to possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
