The Team Member We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Library Administrator to lead a regional office and its community libraries.
This leadership role provides oversight of professional librarians and support staff, collaborates closely with executive management, and ensures the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality library services across the region.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and operational leadership skills.
They will be clearly dedicated to advancing public service and organizational excellence in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.

Requirements to Qualify:
Option 1: One year of experience at the level of* Los Angeles County class Assistant Library Administrator**, assisting in the administration of library services across a region***.
Option 2: One year of experience at the level of* Los Angeles County class Assistant Library Administrator**, coordinating a department-wide service program or technical services function.
Option 3: Two years of experience at the level of* Los Angeles County class Librarian V****, managing a Group I Level***** public library******.
Option 4: Two years of experience at the level of* Los Angeles County class Librarian V****, directing and coordinating the department-wide specialized reference services.
License: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

Our Assessment Process: This assessment will consist of a structured oral interview weighed 100%. The oral interview will assess Leadership and Staff Development, Integrity and Professional Accountability, Strategic Planning and Operational Management, Community Engagement, and Oral Communication.
Applicants must receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the assessment to be added to the list.
Eligibility and Vacancy Information: Applicants who passed the assessment are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months.
Applications will be processed as they are received and added to the list accordingly. We will use this list to fill vacancies in LA County Library as they occur.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
Available Shift: Appointees will be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
