This job is for a professional librarian at a U.S.
Army base library in Germany, where you'll manage books and resources, help patrons find information, run programs for different age groups, and oversee staff to keep the library running smoothly.
It's a great fit for someone with a library degree who enjoys working with people, organizing collections, and creating engaging events in a military community setting.
This position is located at USAG Rheinland-Pfalz - MWR, Library, Landstuhl, Germany. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).
Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1.
A master's degree in library science, information services, or information management from an accredited college or university. 2.
Additionally, one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience is desired which showcases the ability to perform patron/public services, technical services, and/or library automation service functions.
3. Must be familiar with office software products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. 4. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1.
The successful candidate should have at least 24 months of progressively responsible experience working in a public or MWR library setting. 2.
The candidate should have at least 12 months of experience developing and implementing library programs.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate their ability to plan and deliver engaging programs that serve a range of patron age groups and interests. 3.
The candidate must have at least 12 months of experience with collection development-related duties.
