About the Division and Unit
The Information Technology (IT) Division is responsible for providing quality products, services, and solutions in service of Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) business priorities enabling the organization’s customers to keep Washington safe and working.
Within the IT Division’s Maintenance and Operations (M&O) program, the Application & Data Management (A&DM) program is comprised of six development teams organized into multiple Agile teams that deliver advanced web capabilities to citizens businesses within Washington State.
About the Role
As the A&DM SQL IT Senior Data Architect, this position is responsible for designing strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, data reporting, data archival and data storage.
If chosen for this role you will set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security.
You will use your specialist knowledge to create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow as well as integrate new systems and refine system performance and functionality.
Some of what you’ll do:
Develop, design, and maintain new architecture for systems and ensure that compliance of existing architecture and documentation are in alignment with IT standards.
This includes:Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements.
Required:
Ten (10) years* of progressive professional experience in qualifying professional IT experience.
Qualifying professional IT experience for this position is defined as experience in the following:Developing and enhancing applications using languages and tools such as Visual Studio, C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript XML, JQuery, MWM or MVC, WPF, ADO, WCF, JSON
*NOTE: Education may substitute year for year for experience up to four (4) years for a Bachelor’s degree and up to two (2) years for an associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a closely aligned field.
