In this role, you will perform a variety of clerical and court duties as well as have the opportunity to work alongside agency staff, attorneys, and court personnel. Requirements

As a Legal Assistant 1, you will perform a variety of clerical duties as well as assist with court documents and processes.

Incumbents are responsible for answering phone calls, directing mail, using email, photocopying, and faxing correspondence for court and departmental needs.

You will perform data entry related to legal matters into Child Accounting Profile System records, maintain account of closed cases and other legal records, and prepare schedules for upcoming court dates.

This role assists the court with several duties including preparing shelter care petitions and dependency petitions, processes Truancy court documents, creates and distributes a variety of court legal files, assists attorneys with case preparation for hearings, and prepares subpoenas.

Incumbents will have the opportunity to learn laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures used to govern regulatory programs and gain knowledge in legal, enforcement, and regulatory procedures and practices.

This position will use analytical skills to review reports, recommendations, rulings, or decisions of field personnel to determine possible inconsistencies with the laws or regulations governing regulatory programs.

Additionally, you will be able to apply pertinent laws, rules, and regulations, prepare case summaries including all pertinent information, and comprehend and interpret legal documents to perform legal research.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
