MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Providing comprehensive support in preparing and organizing exhibits, evidence, and case-related data for presentation before a jury, grand jury, or in other legal proceedings; Managing and preparing electronic discovery materials, including evidence, exhibits, and other electronically stored information (ESI) pertinent to investigations and casework; Utilizing and maintaining various software applications to develop both physical and digital trial presentations; Assisting in evaluating case requirements to determine effective litigation support strategies and solutions.
OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D.
in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-07 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade.
No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases). Major Duties:
This Legal Administrative Specialist provides: The incumbent serves as one of several legal administrative specialists and points of contact for discovery in civil cases in compliance with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, especially those provisions and amendments addressing electronic discovery (e-Discovery) and electronic litigation (e-Litigation) generally.
The incumbent uses automated litigation support (ALS) software applications and other resources to organize, review, analyze and compile information for the optimal utilization of Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and presentation to the Court in motions and trials in the litigation of a variety of civil cases.
Assists AUSAs in developing strategies for the collection and utilization of electronically stored information (ESI), trains AUSAs to make efficient and effective use of ALS tools for the analysis and presentation of case information and develops clear and effective presentations for use in legal proceeding.
Additionally, the work involves providing a range of additional legal support services to multiple AUSAs involved in civil litigation.
This is the full performance level (FPL) and the incumbent reports directly to Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist.
Duties Include: Provides general assistance to assigned attorneys and to the overall operations of the Division.
Assists assigned attorneys as requested with general matters on, including maintaining case files on the Division's Case Files system consistent with Division policies; updating CaseView to ensure deadlines reflected in the system are current, accurate and complete; identifying cases to be closed; and preparing paperwork necessary for the opening and closing cases.
Contributes to Division-wide objectives and tasks, including appropriately and accurately logging service in the Division's electronic service system (the Electronic Green Book); correctly scanning service packages (including ensuring that all pages are scanned and scans are saved on electronic resources consistent with Division policies); forwarding emergency matters to Division management and proving general support (copying, mailing, etc.) as directed.
