About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral and medical standards required by the DoD and the military services.

Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining and processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. This will be a permanent fill.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, including: Performing quality control of examination and/or applicant information; Conducting aptitude and/or qualification test sessions as required; Assisting with the accountability of all testing materials; Compiling test results and/or information into a automated centralized reporting system.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Typing Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minutesample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position. Major Duties:

• As a Lead Testing Clerk (Office Automation), you will:
• Coach, facilitate, solve work problems, and participate in the work of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Testing Element.
• Provide input to supervisor on performance, progress, and training needs of employees, and on disciplinary problems.
• Conduct aptitude and qualification examinations at the MEPS and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites.
• Sign for inventory and receipt of, transfer of, and destruction of accountable test materials.
• You will cross-train in other functions of the MEPS (such as processing) and perform these functions as required.
