Summary

This job involves managing the supply chain for UH-60 aircraft and related ground equipment in a U.S.

Army unit in Japan, including ordering parts, handling fuels and lubricants, and buying local items as needed.

A good fit would be someone with experience in inventory tracking and logistics who is detail-oriented and comfortable using computer systems for data entry and budgeting.

About the Position: Responsible to provide supply operations support for UH-60 aircraft and ground support equipment in the technical supply section of the U. S. Army Aviation Battalion - Japan.

Ordering, turn-in, and exchange of Class IX (Air) repair parts and supplies; Class III purchase/stock of required petroleum oils and lubricants (POL); and coordinating and purchasing local items as necessary.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes in (1) Skill in the use of office automation systems, various software packages to include MS Office, and database software (MS Access and MS Excel) to perform data entry; (2) Apply principles and practices to budget estimates;(3) Monitor inventory to ensure the integrity of a supply management system; and (4) Knowledge of supply and property book regulations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply, Business.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.

5305. Major Duties:

  • Manages stock levels of bench stock/common hardware items and determines the necessity for items to be added or deleted from stock based on demands and command-supported needs.
  • Identifies and develops program forecasting requirements in support of the United States Army Japan (USARJ) and I Corps (Forward) mission.
  • Advises and initiates actions to ensure material support for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and special projects meet with safety of flight (SOF) compliance.
  • Order, turn-in, and exchange of Class IX (Air) repair parts and supplies; Class III purchase/stock of required petroleum oils and lubricants (POL).
  • Works closely with unit customers to ensure that the bench stock and high dollar Class IX (Air) and Class III (POL) to ensure repair parts are on-hand with quantities appropriate for mission support.
  • Manages the Aviation Battalion Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) program.
  • Performs leader administrative and management tasks. Serves as first line supervisor for three Japanese Local National Master Labor Contractors.
