Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service providing store operations services that include: operating computer equipment and electronic checkout systems, recordkeeping and report preparation, and providing guidance and advice to other store associates.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.

Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Attention to Detail Customer Service Leadership Major Duties:

  • Distribute and balance workload among employees, monitor status and progress of work, and make day-to-day adjustments.
  • Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and assists with problems.
  • Answer questions on procedures, policies, directives.
  • Check work in progress or upon completion to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Conduct on-the-job training covering all aspects of the work performed in the various functional retail areas of the store.
  • Provide instruction on the proper use and care of equipment, safety rules and sanitary requirements.
  • Maintain records of work accomplishments and time expended and prepare production reports as required.
  • Based on workload requirements and staffing levels, perform work in any area of the commissary.
