This job involves leading a team of security guards at a naval air facility in Maryland, where you'll oversee access control, patrols, and responses to incidents to protect people, buildings, and sensitive information.
It's a hands-on role that requires standing watch at entry points, training staff, and ensuring everyone follows safety rules.
A good fit would be someone with prior security experience in a structured environment like the military or large organizations, who is reliable, detail-oriented, and good at leading others under pressure.
You will serve as a LEAD SECURITY GUARD in the SECURITY OFFICE, COMMANDER GROUP of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing and leading uniformed/plain clothes security operations on a military installation, federal or state property, or for a large company, while also providing protection of personnel, facilities, sensitive information, and government/corporate assets; 2) Controlling access at Entry Control Points and restricted areas by carrying out inspections of credentials, vehicles, packages, and materials; 3) Enforcing SOPs, regulations, and/or Force Protection Conditions; 4) Responding to security incidents and emergencies using sound judgment; 5) Overseeing and inspecting guardforce performance, reviewing logs and reports for accuracy, and conducting on-the-job training; 6) Operating electronic security and alarm systems; and 7) Coordinating with supervisory officials and law enforcement to ensure mission-ready security operations.
