About the Position: This position is located in Brussels, Belgium within Europe West DSO Transportation.

Federal employees in Brussels, Belgium are currently entitled to receive a 50% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This rate is subject to change.

The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months. This position is not covered by a bargaining unit.

Specialized Experience for GS-11:One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating transportation routes, stops, and schedules in a K-12 or comparable passenger transportation environment; applying transportation regulations and safety standards to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, or host-nation requirements; forecasting transportation needs and assisting with budget planning or monitoring to ensure efficient use of funds; overseeing transportation service providers or contractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and billing accuracy; coordinating with agency officials, installation leadership, community representatives, and stakeholders to resolve transportation issues and ensure safe student movement; developing transportation solutions for individuals requiring accommodations; and providing technical guidance to staff in the execution of transportation program functions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP).

Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.

Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location. Major Duties:

  • Coordinating and adjusting transportation routes, stops, and schedules to support changing operational requirements in a K-12 educational or comparable passenger transportation environment.
  • Applying transportation policies, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, or host-nation requirements.
  • Forecasting transportation requirements and assisting in the preparation, justification, or monitoring of transportation budgets to ensure efficient use of appropriated funds.
  • Monitoring contractor or service provider performance, verifying invoicing accuracy, and ensuring services comply with contractual terms (e.g., COR/ACOR-related responsibilities).
  • Coordinating with school officials, installation leadership, community representatives, and parents to resolve transportation issues and ensure safe student movement.
  • Developing or implementing special transportation arrangements to meet the needs of individuals requiring accommodations.
  • Leading or providing technical guidance to team members in the execution of transportation program functions, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and procedural standards.
