Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to plan and oversee repairs and upgrades for naval ships, focusing on piping systems in a forward-deployed maintenance center.

You'll create detailed work plans, review proposals, and ensure everything meets safety and contract standards for shipbuilding and modernization projects.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Lead Production Controller (Piping Systems) in the Waterfront Operations department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing work specifications, detailed reports and statements of work to support the planning of shipbuilding, ship repair, and modernization availabilities; 2) Performing long range planning, estimating and accomplishing technical analysis of customer and contractor proposals; and 3) Reviewing and invoking technical requirements to ensure compliance with appropriate shipbuilding procedures, contracts and specification.

  • You will provide leadership in training, advice, review, and recommendations to FDRMC’s government Production Controller and contractor planners.
  • You will be responsible for preparing definitive work specifications, estimates and Technical Advisory Reports (TARS) for all ships and craft assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • You will plan and estimate depot level work specifications to be executed by a contracted workforce.
  • You will lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
  • You will provide technical direction and guidance to planners in the review, guidance and completion of work.
  • You will perform ship-check inspections and generate technical documents used to determine ship's material condition.
