Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lead police officer at a Navy installation in Key West, Florida, where you'll oversee a team of officers, respond to emergencies like active shooters or bomb threats, and ensure security for people and property.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing advanced aspects of law enforcement, antiterrorism, and physical security functions at military installations requiring use and deployment of specialized or advanced techniques, equipment, knowledge or training; 2) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations; 3) Coordinating with other law enforcement agencies during emergency response situations at a moment's notice, to include response to mass casualty and active shooter situations.

Major Duties:

  • You will perform contingency actions in response to incidents, emergencies, and hostile actions (e.g., active shooter, hazardous materials spill, bomb threat).
  • You will distribute and balance workload and rotations among police officers.
  • You will administer anti-terrorism, force protection, physical security, and law enforcement services for the protection of life and property.
  • You will interview witnesses, take statements, secures crime scenes, seize and protect evidence, draft report, create incident diagrams, and provide direction to other civilian and/or military law enforcement personnel as required.
