See below for important information regarding this job. To qualify for an IT Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSPT), your qualifications must include: A.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only),time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzes network requirements and maintains network architecture and infrastructure.

Oversee the configuration and optimization of network by analyzing network workload and monitoring network capacity and performance.

Create/update network maps; configure and manage LAN Management equipment.

Analyzes, evaluates, and advises on the current and predicted future operational, technical, and data views of IT Operations networks.

Develops and integrates functional requirements into strategic plans and systems to ensure that business needs are effectively integrated into information acquisition plans and programs, and for ensuring that interface requirements are identified.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Leads and coordinates the activities of GS-11 through GS-12 level employees engaged in diverse technical, administrative, and professional Information Technology (IT) functions vital to the CITOPS mission.
  • Provides agency-level expertise in deployable communications systems, encompassing a broad spectrum of IT, telecommunications, systems development, policy and integration onto standard mission systems.
  • Leads a group of Information Technology specialists in providing the planning, implementation, and management of production activities to support the J64AF Contingency Operations East Branch.
  • Ensuring that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products and services.
  • Maintain program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant background documents and make available policies, procedures and written instructions from the supervisor.
