Summary

This job involves leading a small team in a bowling center's food service area, where you'll prepare and serve snacks and drinks, handle cash transactions, and keep everything clean and safe.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Shaw Lanes Bowling Center Shaw AFB. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead three or more workers to accomplish food service duties.

Be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgement in sequencing tasks.

Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food. Be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and band for long periods of time. Be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.

Be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete the food handler's training. Be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Ensures preparation or food and beverage items using measure and standard recipes. Observes and ensure portion control produces when preparing menu items.

Leads subordinate staff in daily operation directed by supervisor. Serves food in a snack bar style. Demonstrates proper work methods and checks work while progress.

Ensures equipment is set up, clean and maintained for daily operation. Ensures employees are trained in setup, cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Sells posted menu items, daily specials and limited variety of prepared food and beverages. Ensures Point of Sale system is utilized and maintained to support daily operation.

Ensures daily deposit is counted and correct each day of operation. Ensures staff is trained to maintain correct daily deposits, cash count, credit card transactions and supporting functions.

Maintain the facility in a clean, safe and orderly manner on a daily basis through direct observation and delegation of duties.

Ensures preparation for the next day's business is conducted at the end of each day. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance as required.

Ensures the facility meets compliance with Military Public Health and most current USDA Food Code. May act as facility representative for MPH inspections in absence of manager.

Place and receives and inspects food and beverage orders. Recommend new items to manager for inclusion on menu. Stores food and beverages IA W standard procedures.

Performs or assists with monthly inventories. Ensure display cooler are restocked. Performs other related duties as assigned.
