This job involves leading a team of firefighters in handling emergencies like structural fires, aircraft crashes, and hazardous material incidents at a naval air station in Louisiana.
You'll train others, assess risks, provide basic medical aid, and operate equipment to keep the base safe.

You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BLS/ HAZMAT TECH) in the NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Instructing employees on specific tasks and firefighting techniques; 2) Preparing and submitting a variety of documentation such as reports, schedules, checklists, and data files; 3) Performing structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities that may include research and/or large industrial complexes; 4) Performing crash-rescue and firefighting duties involving air traffic or support operations; 5) Performing hazard and risk assessments; and 6) Performing basic life support, initiating established medical protocols.
