The primary purpose of this position is: Serve as 68EWS Lead United States Air Force (USAF) equipment specialist and provide technical expertise and advice to the squadron's technical advisor.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes applying comprehensive knowledge in a range of principles, concepts, and practices to perform difficult and complex assignments concerning major Electronic Warfare systems and support equipment.
applying knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to system/equipment acquisition, design, and logistic support.
applying knowledge of reviewing the Electronic Warfare maintenance and operational procedures at unit installations.
applying knowledge of computers to include system management, software engineering, and network administration.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Current knowledge of wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of the Electronics Warfare systems and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments.
Skill in providing technical and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and/or senior engineers.
Skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting software coding, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
Ability to provide skilled and technically accurate support to senior technical leadership. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Serves as Team Leader with responsibility to the supervisor for assuring that the work of the team is carried out by performing a range of coordinating and supportive duties and responsibilities.
Electronic Warfare (EW) Equipment Tester. Subject Matter Expert on Electronic Warfare equipment. Conducts research and development on Electronic Warfare equipment.
