This position is part of the Government Secure and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

To qualify for the Lead Document Inspection Technician, PG - 1801 - 9 , you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the PG-07(GS-07) grade level or higher (or equivalent) in Federal Service.

Specialized experience includes:- Use of quality assurance methods, principles, and practices including statically analysis and sampling techniques AND Interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations, and other guideline materials; OR Possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, related to the work of the position OR Possess 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or LL.B.

or J.D., if related- leading to such a degree related to the work of the position OR A Combination of education and Specialized experience that equals 100% Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Major Duties:

  • Oversee routine daily operations to ensure analysis and documentation of all manufacturing waste from passport and secure card production.
  • Oversee routine daily operations to ensure Quality Control and Quality Insurance inspections are completed.
  • Responsible for the proper collection and reporting of the data into the databases for the defective books and secure cards and manufacturing waste.
