Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lead detective at a U.S. Army base in Kansas, where you'll investigate crimes, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and work with other law enforcement to solve cases.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serve as a Lead Detective for the Directorate of Emergency Services for Fort Riley, KS.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing facts to identify case information; 2) Interviewing people to gather information for cases; 3) Coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to gather evidence.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Major Duties:

  • Monitors status and work progress, making daily adjustments of established priorities as necessary.
  • Performs undercover surveillance assignments.
  • Checks crime scene for fingerprints and other evidence.
  • Coordinates with legal authorities, both on and off the facility.
