This position serves as a Lead Budget Analyst in the Justice Management Division, Budget Staff, Law Enforcement and Corrections Group located in Washington, DC.
The Budget Staff has principal departmental responsibility for the development, direction, and execution of Department-wide program budget operations; funds control; planning and conduct program budget review efforts throughout the Department to assist top level officials in the assessment of objectives and efficiency.
To qualify for the position of Lead Budget Analyst, at GS-0560-14, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
Specialize Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as: Developing budgetary policies or procedures; Applying budget planning processes as it relates to the budget life cycle (e.g.
budget preparation, presentation and defense, authorization and accountability); AND Resolving budgetary issues or problems.

The duties and responsibilities for a Lead Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Apply qualitative and quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve team effectiveness, efficiency, and work products.
Provide administrative and policy direction in the formulation and justification of budgets. Review historical data to validate estimates for a multi-functional budget program.
Recommend solutions to budget formulation, justification, presentation, and execution problems related to multi-year appropriations.
