Recruitment Number DOT-HWY-2025-11

This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill immediate and future vacancies located at the Oahu District Office, Department of Transportation - Highways, State of Hawaii.

Salary: $4,590 to $5,588 per month (SR-18, Step D to I).

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Requirements

Provides land survey support for highway construction projects and highway special maintenance projects.

Serves as instrumentman on a variety of kind of surveys such as preliminary, topographic, construction or boundary surveys, using a transit, level, theodolite, and/or other survey instruments; reduces and plots field notes and performs related computations; may serve as chief-of-party on routine surveys; compiles data pertaining to surveys from maps, deeds, land titles, metes and bounds descriptions or other sources; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Basic Education Requirement: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a major in land surveying, geo-science, or engineering.

Driver's License Requirement: All positions require a valid license to drive in the State of Hawaii is required, at the time of appointment.

Lifting Requirement: Most positions require the ability to lift and carry items of up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 125 lbs. assisted.
