About the position: These positions are Non-appropriated Fund (NAF). Employee may be placed at Ramstein or Vogelweh Bowling Center. This position is ineligible for logistic support.

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of limited maintenance work within a bowling facility.

Heavy physical effort is required in frequent lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between Germany and the U.S., you must be a U.S. citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a U.S.

permanent resident card in order to be eligible for NAF employment.

Citizens of Germany (including dual citizenship if Germany is one of the countries) as well as "ordinarily resident" US citizens are not eligible for NAF employment per SOFA agreement.

If not already in the commuting area, must be able to verify the ability to arrive before a firm job offer can be sent.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Some degree of manual skill and prior work experience is required to work safely with heavy hand tools or to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment.

Continual care and attention must be exercised to prevent accidents because of the nature of the duties and the kind of equipment used. Supervisor provides oral or written work instructions.

Independently completes work assignments. Detailed instructions or continual supervision is not provided for most duties, however, supervisor is available for special work assignments.

Works indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Requires caution in working with moving parts during operation of equipment.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards.

Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility; collects and removes trash; and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion.

Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned.

Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary and performs periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment.

Maintains stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems.
