Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work is performed outdoors in rugged terrain; to include steep, wet, uneven surfaces, and muddy, dusty conditions that may soil clothes/skin.

Work conditions include weather such as rain, wind, sunshine, extreme temperature variations, contact with stinging/biting insects and toxic plants, and loud noises/vibrations from working with power tools.

Major Duties:

  • Laborer positions are for different types of work: Recreation maintenance, Survey lands, and Orchard maintenance.
  • Performs a variety of manual tasks to support surveying activities, orchard upkeep or campground maintenance.
  • Operates and maintains various tools to perform manual tasks.
  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Uses hand tools (shovels, rakes, hoes) and performs tasks requiring physical effort outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Keeps work areas clean, organized and free of hazards; store equipment and tools properly.
