Full Job Description

This position is located at the West Point Club. NOTE: The official title for this position is Food Service Worker NA-01. The "working title" is Kitchen Helper NA-01.

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn.

Skill and Knowledge: Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.

Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material.

Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: knowledge, skills, abilities, additional screening criteria and other characteristics.

Initial Cut-Off Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 (Applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST).

Applications received by the Initial Cut-Off Date will be reviewed and possibly referred to the Selecting Official PRIOR to the Closing Date of this Vacancy Announcement.

Subsequent referrals to the Hiring Manager will occur every two weeks thereafter based on management's need to fill positions. Major Duties:

  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures
  • Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters.
  • Loads and operate dishwashers. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls. Cleans and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash.
  • Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Performs other duties as assigned.
