Requirements
This position supervises the work of a group of janitors and other custodial personnel in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and building areas; and perform other related duties as assigned.
This position supervises a crew of 4-6 inmate workers and is responsible for the janitorial and housekeeping functions of the facility including the maintenance of grounds adjacent to buildings, minor repairs and simple building maintenance tasks not requiring trade skill such as carrying and moving heavy furniture and equipment, cleaning place and equipment , etc.
Qualifications
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:General Experience:
TWO (2) YEARS of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings.
Supervisory Experience:
ONE (1) YEAR of experience which included responsibility for:
- scheduling and inspecting the work of subordinates
- instructing employees in the proper method of performing the work
- maintaining discipline
- insuring that safety practices are adhered to
- keeping records of work activities.
Driver's License: Applicants
must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility.
