Job Description

Summary

This job is for a janitor at Kahului Airport on Maui, where you'll handle everyday cleaning of public areas, tackle tough spots that are hard to reach, do basic repairs on buildings, and use heavy-duty cleaning machines.

It's a hands-on role that involves lifting heavy items and keeping the airport clean and safe for everyone.

A good fit would be someone reliable, physically strong, and okay with working shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays—no prior experience needed.

Requirements

The Janitor II performs routine manual work in cleaning and maintaining public buildings and also performs heavy lifting, cleans places and equipment which are not easily accessible, does simple building repair work and operates heavy industrial type cleaning equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must met ALL of the following requirements:

Experience and Training: None required.

Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
