Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job is for a senior business analyst who helps the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services improve their lab operations by analyzing and streamlining business processes using technology.
The role involves working as a technical advisor to create automated systems, ensure data accuracy, and support IT projects that make government services more efficient.
It's a good fit for someone with a tech background who enjoys solving real-world problems in public health and has experience in IT analysis.
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.
This position will serve as a senior level Business Analyst (BA) supporting Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). This position will support the MDHHS Public Health Administration Bureau of Laboratories (BOL) area. This position will serve as a technical consultant to MDHHS clients to develop solutions for streamlining critical business processes according to MDHHS’ strategic plan. This position is integral to developing and maintaining MDHHS’ automated processes, streamlining critical business processes, data integrity, and securing MDHHS systems. This position will perform as an information technology (IT) professional participating in a variety of analytical assignments that provide for the enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation of information systems.DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT.
ITPA 12 - Position DescriptionSIGNING BONUS:
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate.
The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.
