Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, education, counseling, or related social/behavioral sciences (or equivalent with 15 semester hours in those fields)
  • Three years of experience in criminal justice, counseling, or related professional human services work
  • Current Class 1 (C-1) certification as a law enforcement officer from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
  • Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council per South Carolina Code of Laws 23-23-40
  • Experience in probation and parole work or equivalent military/certified law enforcement experience (substitutions allowed for associate’s or high school diploma)
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (8:00 am to 8:00 pm) and serve as essential personnel during emergencies

Location: Columbia/ITAC (Intelligence Tracking & Communications)

12 hour shifts 40 hours per week. 1st Shift: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

Under limited supervision of the ITAC Agent-In-Charge (P&P LE Manager II), the ITAC Supervisor will: Direct daily procedures of the GPS Operations Center. Manage human resources and schedules of a team of Agents (P&P LE Officer II). Organize fiscal resources within the center. Provide feedback and development of Field Operations policies, procedures and standards. Monitor special populations. Collect data for evaluations of programs. Communicate with vendors related to technologies and equipment as needed. Promote public relations within the Fusion Center as well as other agencies housed in the same facility. Serve as the first line of notification for statewide electronic surveillance alerts. Triage alerts and notify appropriate persons as required. Maintain a professional communication network inside and outside the Department. Effectively communicate with field staff/responders. Maintain broad knowledge of all surveillance software, hardware, and program protocols. In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency situations, the ITAC Supervisor (P&P LE Manager I) is classified as “Essential Personnel,” meaning they must report to designated work locations to ensure GOP operations are only minimally interrupted so as to provide for the continued protection of public safety.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work. An associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience may substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience may be substituted.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, education, counseling or other social/behavioral sciences or a Bachelor’s Degree which included at least 15 semester hours in the aforementioned disciplines and completion of three (3) years of experience in criminal justice, counseling, or related professional human services work.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.


NOTE: Must be currently Class 1 (C -1) certified law enforcement officer from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
