Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an IT specialist for the Navy's education and training command, where you'll analyze systems, support customers, manage networks, and ensure the security of information technology setups, including cloud-based solutions.
You'll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, prepare recommendations for IT improvements, and protect sensitive data from risks.
It's a good fit for someone with a year of hands-on IT experience who enjoys solving technical problems and working in a secure, government environment.
You will serve as a IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/CUSTSPT) in the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION N6.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Performs needs analyses to define opportunities for new and/or improved business process solutions. 2.
Customer Service - Consults with customers to identify and specify requirements. Develops overall functional and systems requirements and specifications. 3.
Oral Communication - Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of information systems to identify associated vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.
Maintains and ensures the security of information systems in an effective, interoperable, scalable, reliable, integrated, and affordable fashion. 4.
Problem Solving - Coordinates the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems and resolves problems and questions involving the interactions between different hardware and software systems.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Manage computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies; 2) Monitor Cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environments and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments; 3) Interpret and translate customer requirements into operational capabilities; 4) Provide cybersecurity principles and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation); and 5) Administer system life cycle management principles, including software security and usability.
