As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in the information assurance program of the wide area network, unified communications and cloud infrastructure.
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Developing, defining, managing, and documenting IT security projects; AND Applying Federal information systems security protocols to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines; AND Performing or managing Federal information systems security assessment and authorization.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Major Duties:
As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Provide leadership and expert advice on developing and implementing policies, programs, and procedures to ensure the security and reliability of the wide area network, unified communications and cloud infrastructure.
Provide technical expertise to the design, development, and implementation of information security policies and procedures.
Devise and conduct risk assessment programs to identify areas of potential vulnerability in operating systems used throughout the organization.
Analyze findings and develop long-range plans for security systems that minimize risks, mitigate vulnerabilities, prevent security incidents, and ensure systems reliability.
