Full Job Description

You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT of FLEET WEATHER CENTER SAN DIEGO.

FOR THE GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying cybersecurity principles and project management principles to: develop plans for cybersecurity programs that anticipate, identify, and minimize risks associated with cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Experience applying mastery of, in-depth knowledge, and judicious application of IS security, technology, and management best practices to achieve and maintain cybersecurity compliance and effective IS security program.

Experience applying mastery of, and skill in, interpreting and developing IA policies sufficient to direct the command's IA program, including, but not limited to: cross-department tasking to integrate IA in all systems across security disciplines; new policy development; instructions to implement policies; and communicate complex security requirements necessary to maintain IS security.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • You will maintain current cybersecurity technology, policy, and administrative developments.
  • You will conduct the review and evaluation of cybersecurity programs and effectiveness of implementation.
  • You will identify problems areas, updates, or establish new requirements in response to new technologies and threats.
  • You will conduct assessment and authorization activities in accordance with requirements and procedures.
