Job Duties:

The IT Services Specialist III, Under general supervision of the Senior IT Consultant for DTS Technology Assistance Center, provides technical expertise, training, infrastructure support, and consulting to all DSS users In both the state office and all county offices statewide.

Types of support include wide area network functions, local area network functions, office automation and personal computer hardware and software, telecommunications, mission critical application support, data backup, recovery and troubleshooting.

Will serve in a rotation for after hours and weekend support of Agency staff deployed for approved 24/7 programs.


Serves as Site Engineer for all DSS automated applications. Assignment includes support of all aspects of the local area networks.

Arranges, oversees and/or performs equipment and software installation.

Provides training to users on network, personal computing, and local system functions, to include data backups, downloads, reports development.

Ensures end user devices are updated and tracked in inventory system.


  • Serves as key contact for user problems in above areas. Analyzes problems and resolves or documents and forwards to appropriate technical or project staff for resolution.


  • Serves in a staff rotation to provide evening and weekend support for Agency staff working in program areas that have been approved and designated for 24/7 work E cycles.


  • Participates in evaluations of equipment and software packages and development of recommendations on technical solutions that meet the needs of users and the E technical environment. Conducts post-installation studies and evaluations for the regions.


  • To ensure that personal identifying information (PU) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by E .· safeguarding systems, equipment and data.


  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.

Requirements

A High School Diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.

An Associate Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
