Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading teams to install and integrate IT systems on U.S. Navy ships and submarines, managing projects from planning to execution across various locations.

It requires coordinating with government and contractor staff, ensuring everything meets safety and security rules, and solving problems that arise during maintenance or upgrades.

A good fit would be someone with experience in project management, especially in military or technical environments, who is organized and good at working with diverse teams.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent, including managing resources for IT installations on Navy surface or submarine units
  • Experience providing project management and installation support for shipboard integrated system capabilities

  • Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Certification and experience monitoring contractor performance

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing and delegating resources to execute installation projected onboard U.S.

Navy surface and/or submarine units; providing project management and/or installation support for delivering shipboard integrated system capabilities; and identifying potential problems related to shipboard maintenance and modernization and making recommendations to correct or mitigate.

NO-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band NO-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing resources to execute installation projected onboard U.S.

Navy surface and/or submarine units; providing project management and/or installation support for delivering shipboard integrated system capabilities; and identifying potential problems related to shipboard maintenance and modernization.

  • You will manage multiple, concurrent project teams consisting of various government and contractor personnel and associated resources to execute delivery, installation and integration of shipboard IT systems at various locations locally and globally.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert in knowledge-management, knowledge-sharing, and lessons-learned tasks or events to identify and implement solutions to resolve issues that impact the project, Division and the Department.
  • You will coordinate internal and external stakeholders to integrate external, shipboard requirements and milestones in project plan.
  • You will evaluate monitor, and enforce project compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, standards, and procedures related to the safety and security of U.S. Navy ships/submarines and associated bases, facilities, etc.
  • You will maintain Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Certification and monitor contractor performance, inspect contractor work, ensure compliance with contract terms and act as a liaison between the contractor and the government.
