THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), Position Description Number T5895000.
This position is located at the 224th, Rome, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion. This is a Temporary NTE 1 year position.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.
Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade.
Knowledge of and skill in applying methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tool and procedures; SCIF Infrastructure; COTS technology; IT security certification and accreditation requirements; network operations and protocols; and computer forensics principles.
Must have experience being able to develop, implement, and coordinating activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities; monitor an evaluate systems: compliance with IT security requirements; provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems; and ensure proper protection of evidence used in investigating computer crimes.

As a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12, you will serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO), ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified information systems, networks and data through the enhancement of Department of Defense (DoD) information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tools.
Enhancement of information systems security programs, procedures, and tools are specifically accomplished by conducting vulnerability assessments and ensuring all protection needs are met.
